Ruta Textiles offers exquisitely designed scarves to adorn you
For as long as I can remember, I have been drawing. Even while in junior class, I drew little drawings in my textbook. I was always lucky to have great teachers in school and at the art & design college. They showed me how to see beauty, which colours go with what, and how to pick the right composition. All my feelings get translated into my art. And when I got introduced to painting on silk at art school, it was fascinating! The way ink works with fabric and colours playfully blend with each other; it is enchanting. I truly enjoy painting on silk. Textile allows the paint to flow freely across the surface.
My favourite theme to draw is flowers. Flowers are unique – they have their own colours, forms, shapes and patterns, which can be difficult to draw or be simple. In addition to drawing by hand, I enjoy creating floral patterns digitally. When you apply flowers over a background, they become a seamless, never-ending pattern, making fantastic-looking wallpaper or gift wrap paper. It is magic!
A year ago, I started designing a collection of scarves, combining my passion for textile design, pattern making, and illustration with storytelling. Now I introduce to you, a couple motifs. Follow me to see more of my future collections.
